Chin Augmentation in Atlanta
Achieve facial balance & harmony with chin implants
Your facial features play an important role in your overall appearance—and if one feature is out of balance or proportion, it can impact the harmony of your entire face. Chin augmentation surgery can help strengthen your chin, define your jawline, and give you a more proportionate silhouette and profile through the placement of a chin implant.
If you are concerned that your chin is too “weak” for your face, our board certified plastic surgeons would love to help.
Is chin augmentation right for you?
The only way to determine if a chin augmentation is the right option for you is to consult with an experienced plastic surgeon who can listen to your concerns, evaluate your facial structure, and make recommendations tailored to your needs. Our surgeons have many years of experience helping patients achieve attractive facial contours, and their advanced understanding of facial structure ensures you get a result that looks natural, beautiful, and still distinctly you.
In the meantime, if you’re curious if chin augmentation may be a good option for you, ask yourself the following questions:
- Does my chin seem small or like it’s receding too much?
- Do I wish my chin were more prominent?
- Is my jawline lacking definition or an attractive contour from head to neck?
- Has my chin started looking weaker as I’ve aged?
If you answered yes to any of these questions (and if you’re a healthy non-smoker), you may be a good candidate for chin implants.
How chin augmentation can help you
Once it is determined that you are a great candidate for chin augmentation, we will have your chin implant specially designed to best-fit your face while enhancing your natural features. The design of your implant is based on a combination of your natural facial structure, how you’d like your chin to appear, and what will look most proportionate and attractive with your other features. Your implant will be made out of a bio-compatible silicone that is safe, durable, and elastic, ensuring your results look and feel natural.
On the day of your procedure, you will arrive at our private, accredited surgery center. You will be placed under either general anesthesia or local anesthesia with IV sedation. Your surgeon will place an incision just inside your lower lip or below your chin, through which your chin implant is placed. Once the implant is positioned appropriately, your surgeon will close the incision and apply a small dressing over your chin.
Recovering from chin augmentation
After surgery, it is normal to experience swelling, tenderness, and even some bruising. Discomfort can be easily managed with prescription pain medication, and most of our patients report switching to an over-the-counter alternative within just a couple days. Normal, non-strenuous activity, including office work, can typically be resumed within 3-5 days.
