Rhinoplasty Before and After Photos: Some of Our Favorite Cases
One of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures performed every year is rhinoplasty. At our Atlanta, GA, practice, we see people of all ages—and some adolescents—who want to change the size or shape of their noses.
Rhinoplasty is perhaps the most technically demanding aesthetic procedure. The delicate nature of the nasal structures, including cartilage and bone, makes rhinoplasty more complicated than most other procedures. Simply put, there is little room for error, so it’s important to choose a board-certified plastic surgeon with plenty of experience in cosmetic nose surgery.
In this post, we’ll look at some of our favorite rhinoplasty before and after photos to demonstrate what a skilled rhinoplasty surgeon can achieve.
Before and After Rhinoplasty Photos
The before and after photos featured in this post showcase the unique approaches needed to address the concerns of different patients.
Smoothing a Dorsal Hump
Many people think of rhinoplasty as a procedure limited to older adolescents or people in their 20s. As you can see in these photos and other examples in this post, there is no “best” age for a nose job. This 40-year-old patient is shown before and 6 months after undergoing surgery to smooth a dorsal hump (a bump on the bridge of the nose).
Straightening the Nasal Bridge
This 19-year-old patient underwent an open rhinoplasty procedure to create a smoother nasal bridge and slightly elevate a droopy tip. The side view demonstrates how natural the results look.
Narrowing a Nasal Bridge
These photos showcase the dramatic transformation achieved for this 22-year-old patient who underwent open rhinoplasty to narrow his nasal bridge.
Open rhinoplasty gives Dr. Fardo a direct view of the nasal structures. He makes a small incision on the columella—the thin strip of skin that divides the nostrils. He then lifts the skin, providing greater access to the nasal interior. He usually uses this approach for more complex procedures.
Refining a Nasal Tip
This 23-year-old patient wasn’t happy with the appearance of the tip of her nose, so we performed tip plasty using an open technique.
In general, a tip plasty addresses the appearance of a bulbous, droopy, or sharply angled tip.
Addressing Breathing & Cosmetic Concerns
In some cases, such as with this 55-year-old patient, we combine rhinoplasty with a procedure called septoplasty, which straightens a deviated septum.
We can perform septoplasty alone for patients who need the procedure to correct breathing difficulties, or we can pair it with rhinoplasty to achieve both functional and cosmetic goals.
Revising the Nose’s Shape & Size
This 41-year-old patient underwent an open rhinoplasty to refine the size of her nose. The photos show her before surgery and her results 6 months after surgery.
