Does RF microneedling hurt?
RF microneedling can be described as mildly uncomfortable, but most patients say it doesn’t hurt. Because the Genius machine uses the smallest needles available and is auto-customized to your unique skin tone and texture, this treatment can be more comfortable than other microneedling treatments. To further minimize any discomfort, your aesthetician will apply a topical numbing ointment to your skin before treatment, and OTC pain relievers may be recommended following treatment.
What is recovery like?
Microneedling with RF requires little to no downtime. The procedure is performed as an outpatient procedure with no anesthesia required. Some redness is normal for the first few days following treatment and should quickly dissipate. You can resume your normal activities immediately after treatment, though we ask patients to wait until the following day before applying makeup. Also, be sure to apply a broad-spectrum SPF to protect your treated skin from the sun.
