With a busy, active lifestyle, it's easy to neglect your skin. Still, the environment takes its toll. Age spots, wrinkles, acne scars and stress can leave the skin looking less than its best. HALO laser resurfacing treatments can help diminish such flaws to reveal smoother, more attractive skin with little to no downtime.
Combat skin flaws and reveal a healthier complexion
Your skin is subject to multiple stressors every day. Sun damage, environmental factors, smoking, and the sweat and dirt of hard work can leave your skin vulnerable to signs of aging, even when you are relatively young. If you look in the mirror and see skin that looks dull or damaged, laser resurfacing can help.
Laser skin resurfacing is a non-surgical method for treating visible skin blemishes and improving skin tone. By using targeted light waves, laser treatments can slough away dull, dead outer layers of skin and encourage collagen production in the healthier skin beneath. Following treatment, the skin heals back smoother, firmer, and more clear than it was before.
Why we use the HALO Hybrid Laser at the Swan Center
Most lasers are either ablative or non-ablative. They either remove outer layers of skin to address blemishes, or heat the skin’s deeper layers to promote collagen production. Ablative lasers get quick results, but can require several weeks of downtime. Non-ablative lasers require little to no downtime, but results appear gradually and multiple treatments may be needed.
HALO’s hybrid laser technology allows us to apply an ablative and non-ablative wavelength simultaneously, adjusting each wavelength to reduce blemishes while achieving the collagen-boosting benefits of a non-ablative laser. The result? A dramatic reduction in skin flaws plus smoother, healthier looking skin overall, with rapid results and minimal downtime.

I struggled with Adult Acne for a period of time. I tried multiple skincare products and treatments… I had two Halo Treatments at the Swan Center and my skin has never been more clear… The results are amazing!!
If you are looking to address specific skin flaws, or you would like a general enhancement in skin texture and tone, laser resurfacing may be a good option for you. It’s important to realize, though, that not all lasers are suitable for all skin types—this is why it is so important to choose an experienced, knowledgeable medical professional to perform your laser treatments.
The HALO laser is typically safe for both lighter and darker skin; however, like any laser, its suitability for any patient is determined on a case-by-case basis. At your consultation, we’ll give you a thorough skin evaluation and help you choose the most appropriate treatment.
How many treatments are needed?
The number of HALO laser treatments needed for satisfactory results vary depending on the individual. Here are a few ballpark estimates:
Improving texture & discoloration: 1 to 2 sessions
Reducing fine lines & wrinkles: 2 to 4 sessions
Reducing acne scars or more extensive signs of aging: up to 4 sessions
Our skincare team will guide you on what you can expect in terms of treatment time and sessions needed for optimal results.
Is there any downtime after treatment?
Again, this depends on the depth of treatment, and what percentage of treatment involved the ablative wavelength. Many patients require very little downtime after HALO and can return to most activity within a day. More extensive HALO treatments may require you to take a few days off to protect the skin until it is healed adequately.
