How Dermal Fillers Work

Dermal fillers are injected into specific areas of the face to plump, firm, and hydrate the skin. Depending on the type of filler, they can either add volume to tissue beneath the skin or stimulate collagen production for longer-lasting effects.  

Fillers are typically made from hyaluronic acid (a substance naturally found in the skin) or a biostimulating material, both of which rejuvenate the skin by attracting moisture and improving skin elasticity. For biostimulators like Radiesse or Sculptra, their gel-like substances add temporary volume but are more notable for their ingredients that promote long-term collagen growth.
