Do you ever wish you could give your skin a do-over? Laser peels and facials can get pretty close. Using a powerful yet precise ablative laser, we can help remove damaged layers of skin to treat anything from wrinkles to keratoses, sagging eyelid skin to scars. With results in as little as one treatment, a laser peel or facial can help you say goodbye to blemishes and get the smoother, more youthful skin you deserve.
Wouldn’t it be great if there was a time machine for skin—something that allowed us to go back and not spend all that time baking in the sun without SPF? Hopefully someone is working on that. In the meantime, there’s laser peels and facials with the Contour TRL. This amazing laser allows us to remove dull, damaged layers of skin, dramatically reducing visible signs of aging or scarring and helping give your complexion a clean slate.
What is a Laser Peel?
The Contour TRL by Sciton is an advanced ablative laser that allows us to precisely treat wrinkles, scars, and lesions, and even help tighten skin anywhere on the face and body. “TRL” stands for Tunable Resurfacing Laser, which means we can tune in the depth of the laser to ablate away just enough skin in the area to get the results you want. We can also adjust the thermal effect to non-ablatively treat the deeper layers of skin, encouraging skin-firming collagen production while removing surface blemishes.
I came to Stephanie because I was dealing with old acne scaring. After a laser treatment and some good skin care products that she recommended, my skin is the best it’s ever been… it’s so soft and clear!
Contour TRL works using a lower heat level than CO2 lasers, making it safe for many skin types with a lower risk for side effects, such as pigmentation loss or prolonged redness. Because it’s so powerful yet precise, we can often achieve a patient’s desired result in just one treatment.
What can a laser peel treat?
The Contour TRL is incredibly versatile. From a light “MicroLaser Peel” to tone and brighten skin, to targeted scar reduction, we can treat a huge variety of skin complaints on the face or body. Here are just a few of them:
Mild to deep facial wrinkles
Lines around the nose, mouth or eyes
Scars, including acne scars
Pigmented lesions
Keratoses
Skin laxity
What to expect with Atlanta laser peel treatments
Because we adjust the laser depth to your specific needs, each patient’s treatment is personalized just for you. We may give you a pre-treatment skincare regimen, and you’ll want to stay out of the sun several days prior to treatment. Arrive for your appointment without makeup.
Depending on the depth of treatment, we may give you a topical anesthetic or medication (if you’re getting meds, have someone else drive you to and from treatment). Our priority is to keep you comfortable, and most patients tolerate treatment very well with the appropriate anesthetic. Treatment time varies, but typically takes about 30 minutes. Following treatment, you will need to keep the area protected and stay out of the sun.
Add complementary procedures for a complete refresh
While laser peel treatments can do wonders for addressing a number of skin concerns, this ablative laser focuses improving skin appearance in certain areas of the face and body. If you, like many of our patients, are also frustrated by additional concerns such as deep wrinkles, volume loss or sagging skin, a complementary treatment can easily be incorporated into your treatment plan for more complete rejuvenation!

Like all ablative lasers, the Contour TRL requires healing time. Downtime varies from about 3 days for a MicroLaser Peel to 10 days for deeper treatments. Initially, your skin will appear bright pink or red and be very sensitive. You may experience some peeling as the skin heals. Keep the area protected from UV exposure by staying out of the sun until the area is healed and applying broad spectrum sunscreen before going out each day thereafter.
When will I see my results?
The upside to a little downtime? Once healed, you’ll see excellent improvements after just one treatment. As the damaged skin cells slough off , you will notice the emerging skin looks smoother, firmer and clearer. This process takes about two weeks for most patients. Results continue to improve as deeper layers of skin produce new collagen.
